SCHOLARSHIP & WORK/STUDY
POLICY
The organization recognizes that the giving and allocating
of money for scholarships and work/study positions is a Worldwork
project that is continually evolving as we all learn and grow
in relationship to economics, education and social justice. The
scholarship and work- study policy is fluid and develops based
on feedback from previous participants. Thanks to everyone who
has helped to create it!
In order to make the seminar accessible to as many people as
possible from all over the world, between one third to one half
of the participants receive some kind of financial assistance.
More details about the contribution
to the scholarship fund
In addition we support participants to also seek external
funding to attend the seminar. Worldwork 2008 is registered with
the Comenius - Grundtvig – Life Long learning programme. Participants
from member countries of European Union read
more on possibility for grant
application.
Until now we were not able to locate a similar form of funding
for participants outside of the EU. If anyone knows of any such
programme please let us know. Thank you.
SCHOLARSHIPS and WORK/STUDY
Individuals who come from countries where the local monetary
equivalence is not comparable to Australia, New Zealand, the
United States, Canada, Western Europe, or Japan are encouraged
to apply for scholarships. In addition, individuals coming from
countries such as the U.S., Western Europe, or Australia who
are part of groups that have been economically disenfranchised
are encouraged to apply for tuition scholarships.
Please send a brief statement of your need and the nature of
your request. Scholarships will be awarded as long as funds remain.
A limited number of work/study positions will be available for
individuals who need financial assistance and who come from countries
where there is a relatively fair equivalence to the Euro. For
a tuition reduction we ask that work/study participants be willing
to help the seminar in a variety of tasks including video-taping,
cleaning and arranging the room, registration, office jobs, and
helping those with special needs. We will ask participants
to help out before, during, or after the seminar and tuition
reductions will coincide with the workload.
Please send a brief description stating your need and also include
any special skills such as video work, sound, computer, grant-writing,
or secretarial skills.
The deadline to apply for a work/study position is November 1,
2007.
